Lady Beavers look to Gnaw their way to the 2008 championship

It is the year of the Beaver, and the competition will be like the wood trees and one by one fall without making a sound.

The softball team is a premier team at Jamaica High School, and the Lady Beavers plan to keep it that way. Last year the Beavers made it to the semi-finals before being eliminated by Riverdale-Kings Academy.

The hard working, dedicated, and driven team is focused on getting to the championship and winning it. Coached by Mr.Pallisco, the girls have a very good shot at winning. After a 10-6 season and a run to the semi-finals, the Lady Beavers, with a team of sensational players, look to make a similar run, but this time to the finals.

In a division where #2 Flushing went 16-0, the #7 Lady Beavers will have to practice, practice, practice.

But this year will be a tough year for the Lady Beavers as they lost seniors Jenaya Wade, and Andreina Nunez whose statistical numbers were outstanding.

Already a quarter way through the season an the lady beavers are at 5-2 in leauge play and 11-3 overall. It comes to show you that the Lady Beavers dont rely on one person, but the whole group of players that make them the Lady Beavers of J.H.S .
